financial mgt..

by keeping this title i'm not referring to the financial issues a person involved but i 'm mentioning about the course which i did this semester. this was taught to us by Dr.phani covering a vast domian of syllabus. this was and this will be the toughest course for me in IITK. when course started which BEA i thought that it 'll be a cake walk to me as i've got exposure to those concepts in btech. as the time passed on the course turned to be more case oriented. as i'm pasionate about cases i enjoyed doing them. but the real problem was the first midsem. i thought that i did very well and expected good marks but in practical i managed very meagre marks. i found my mistakes and worked to overcome them. then a catastrophe came by name of bond evaluation. this has the base of time value of money. as i did time value of money i thought i can do better in the next mid. but i'm proved to be totally wrong. i onceagain ended with a score less than the average. this time my professor called me and warned me to work well. another good thing here is my prof revealed that if we keep ourself cool his exam will be done. i dont know what to do, because i've not wasted any time in that due course. but i held my nerve and prepared for the end sems. i alays had my profs words at the back of my mind and prepared psychologically. i made strategies imagining various types of questions in the exam. by the time of end sems we entered capital budgeting and WCM. i prepared questions from each and every session trying my own answers for them. this really fetched me a lot as i turned out to be in the 7th person from the top. among the mtech students i topped the course. this happened with the eternal grace of almighty and my well wishers blessings. i felt tensed after the exam as its an objective type. basically our prof is an expert in confusing the students with his MCQs. many ques have multiple answers and many have 'none of the above' as answers.

as i'm leaving iit i'm not sure when 'll i get a chance to update my blog again.

yes this is what happened in the fourth floor of "celebrations" last friday evening. it was a great evening for all of us. as it is the last function with our beloved seniors we thought it should be memorable for all of us. and it turned to be so. we reserved the fourth floor of "celebrations" and we are supposed to reach there by 7pm. but my class mates are too punctual to do that. so we started at the hostel by 7pm and reached there by 7:45pm. then started the real event. we called each of our seniors on to the dais and interviewed, ragged, discussed with them. to be precise we had a great fun with them. the conversation from the hotseat went as follows:
mayank sir: the first to take the hot seat.
we people forced him to do tell the embarassing moments of his life and he explained his college ragging incident. though he told only one incident we made many inferences from that incident. he also sang the famous farewell song ' kabhi alvidana kehna..'
next to take the hot seat was pankaj sir.
pankaj sir: he explained about their seminars in IIT and ppl asked him some tricky questions like " is the number of ur orkut communities more than the number of frens?" though he got a bit of discomfort we njoyed a lot. he also explained how sunita ma'm talks which was the highlight of the party.
our class mimicry hero aditya invited Rushikesh by imitated his voice.
rushi sir: he also explained about their seminars in RRKS class. God, those were really tresure to 've and cherish in future. then again adi(aditya) imitated his voice and completed his role.
nextly the junta wanted shashi sir to adore the hotseat.
shashi sir: he is as cool as ever and told how he time passed his seminar by using the words ' good bad worst'. then our class pandey asked him the reason for denying drink in their job party.
then its the turn of most wanted person vinod sir.
vinod sir: he is the person doing a lot of masti there among the audience. now all the people asked him as many questions as possible. he answered many and escaped from some. later he sang a bhojpuri song and concluded his part.
then we asked the most famous senior saurabh aggarwal.
saurabh sir: he explained all his romantic experiences all thru the life. later explained the psychology of girls as he is the expert in that area.
last but not the least its the turn of only girl in the party. sunita ma'm entered the hot seat.
every one of us ahve questions for her. and she is patient enough to answer all the questions. later she told what she think of about each of the juniors. bade bhaiyya(mohit) is declared as the favourite junior and i am declared to be so sweet.
then we took dinner with many items like pineapple raita, a couple of rice items, butter nans, ice cream, sweets etc. after that a long and weird photo session took place. inumerable number of photos has been taken as we 've three cameras. then ppl got haywards 6000 and all the drinkers' club of IME posed before the cameras. some one scolded me for not drinking and i turned into the role of photographer. after the official party concluded we moved on to our favourite spot in iit i.e. ashok's canteen, hall-4. we had much fun here than in celebrations. guys like deepak and adi imitated raka and KS. yogi imitated pankaj sir's action and that was the talk of the night.
then at about 1am we bid adieu to the seniors. and we once again screamed that

infamous cycle chain

five years back late in the evening i was coming from the world famous eamcet coaching center from kadapa coined as Chandra coaching center, buddies like balu, raja sekhar etc were there along with me. as i crossed the RTC bus-stand i found my college girls staring at each other. basically they used 2 leave well ahead of us so as to reach the home as early as possible. coz of our pricipal's "effect" we nevr used 2 talk with the girls so we were abt to cross them. one girl who is the sisiter of my fren asked me to place the "cycle chain" properly. i thought it was her cycle that troubled so i got down. later i found that it is one of the uncorrectable mistake of mine in that year. as i reached them she showed a cycle and i tried to replace the chain properly. but destiny has something else for me so i failed to replace the chain. shameful fact here is that i am riding bycycle from my 6th standard.i tried to do it again. none of our batch mates turned to me. at that time. balu almost reached sivalayam. i failed to do that work in my second attempt also. fortunately for that girl and unfortunately for me another person of my class came there and placed the chain in a split of a second!!! i jus stared at him for few moments with astonishment. after completing the work that guy moved immediately. i was jus talking with her how the chain got displaced. at this critical time charecters like balu and rajsekhar entered the scene. knowing them very well i moved from there immediately but the loss had already occurred. they had observed me talking with the girl and concluded that its myself who placed the cycle chain. next moring as i eneterd into the class balu shouted "karthik.. is ur cycle chain in place?" and all of the class laughed at me. knowing the reason well i joined the party. after that they had a lot of fun with me and made hell out of me. balu is the main cause of that propaganda and i took the revenge on him using the same incident in a different manner.
referring of this incident in my last update created a lot of curiosity in my buddies so i thought to keep this in my blog.

balu..ABCDEF

almost seven years back i was as usual playing cricket in the street(by bunking the school). the captain of the other team said that "i'll take balu" referring 2 a kid of 4th class. my team captain responded with a similar dialogue "i'll take this balu" showing a guy looking a bit fat with sharp eyes and serious face. i never knew that this guy is going to be come my pal soon. the same guy roamed with me for next six years and presently doing Mtech(VLSI design) at NIT Trichy. the only thing most of the time we did was talking 2 each other till we completed Btech. i never thought that he 'll do engg along with me coz he had better chances and i was sure that both of us can do Mtech at same place. but none of them happnd. we did engg together and moved away for Mtech. thats life!!! whenever i think of balu i recall the many evenings which we used to stay with each other. we used laugh like anything making fun of all the things around us. one incident which both of us cant forget is the cyclechain incident infront of the RTC bus stand. this turned me into a popular figure in the junior college. he is going to turn 24 coming tuesday. in the present situation i cannot wish him happy B'day directly(my mob not working. he dont 've a contact number). so i want to wish him happy birthday through this blog.
