Value

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a Rupee 500 note. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this Rupee 500 note?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this note to one of you but first let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the note up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air . "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth Rupee 500/-. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstan...

The Socrates Triple Filter Test

A must for everyone of us!!! In ancient Greece , Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?" "Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." "Triple filter?" "That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test." "The first filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" "No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..." 'All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the se...

Citizen awareness!!!

its more than a month since we performed a mime in the office new year function. its about making people aware about their duties. All the people in our AR&D group have participated and performed to the best of their abilities. Many in the office have given us +ve feedback about it. I was not bothered about whether people like it or not but this will be a real cherish-able moment for me in SMS. I want to make a record of this activity in my blog so adding the real video and the video taken during our practice. I thank the team(director specially) for buying my ideas and implementing them in the mime.

story: an eye opener!!!

off late i'm repeatedly facing a question: "how on the earth I deserve this?" there are some things which I strongly believe I dont deserve and I still stand at the receiving end. well, in a series of questions like 'how can any one be so inhuman?' 'isnt there something called courtesy in this world?' I asked my mentor this question "how on the earth I deserve this?" what mistake did I commit? By virtue I accept any criticism on a positive note. there is nothing called a "bad choice of words". coming to the present issue, Sir told me the story of a saint living in Benaras. one day he went to bath in Ganga and observed a scorpion floating on the water and trying to save its life. he then tries to hold it and put out of water. As soon as he touches it, it bites him bitterly. once it bites he leaves it on to the water. after a few moments he again tries to throw the insect out of water but it bites him again. This series happens for quite...

Ethics:where are you??

Image
last Saturday I went through an article in Eenadu paper which is here I was simply shocked to read it. off late i'm getting used to all sorts of shocks possible in the planet but never dreamt people would go on to such a level. That lady in the end expresses her helplessness by saying "i dont know whom to blame". i think its not about blaming someone. its all about believing someone. these kind of experiences enrich us by making us realize even these kind of people are there in this world. but I should accept the fact these kind of things creates distrust among the victims. I'm damn confident that the lady would nevr share her agony with anyone again and by doing that she would not give the luxury of being her close friend to anyone again. but my feeling is that we should continue believing people despite these kind of shocks. Because doubting someone is an insult to the relation. its very easy to be said than done. I had a similar discussion with my friend and he...

lessons, exams and answers

yesterday I went across the following quote: "In studies you learn lessons first and then get exams In life you get exams first and then learn lessons" this made me think a lot about the exams which life throws at you and the way people want us to learn lessons. If something out of hands happen, we should understand that there is a lesson to be learnt for you and here is the reminder. But if someone who knew you well play with you as long as they can and then say " I know you would be hurt but thats the way it is and you should learn a lesson from this" . I'm sorry!!! I am out of words to explain what I would be going through then. In that case what is the so called lesson to be learnt??? the only answer I found is to forgive them, for God's sake not cursing them. Now, the answers part for the exams which life throws at us. The only answer available is to stick to your principles. By principles I clearly mean things like Honesty, Trustworthiness etc. when...

some insights..

Our President (Ex) of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam 's Speech in Hyderabad Why is the media here in India so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why? * We are the first in milk production. * We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. * We are the second largest producer of wheat. * We are the second largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan, he has transformed the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters. I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had t...

Words priceless

In this turbulent times of torching churches and abusing idols i'm remembering the words said by Swami more than a century ago. This is the reason why I claim Swami is the greatest gift God has given to this holy land. Here goes the speech: Date: 9/11/1893 Place:Chicago, Illinois Sisters and Brothers of America, It fills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordial welcome which you have given us. I thank you in the name of the most ancient order of monks in the world; I thank you in the name of the mother of religions, and I thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects. My thanks, also, to some of the speakers on this platform who, referring to the delegates from the Orient, have told you that these men from far-off nations may well claim the honor of bearing to different lands the idea of toleration. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance....

Introspection, Change etc etc..

Image
" you are not as good as you think you are" - this is the remark which i received in one of the interviews for the SELP. and also a suggestion to introspect. well this kind of interviews is not new for me and they always helped me. Of course now its time i redefine myself. I live my life according to certain principles. Right now i'm shattered but not my principles. They cant be shattered, come what may! and one of the principles that guide me is to stand for people who BELONG to me. As long as i'm alive I stand for them. sometimes this might back fire because people cant take suggestions which they dont like. but i will try my best to make them understand my point. sometimes this feature of me might cost me even the very relation for which i'm worried so much. but its fine. Coz that gives me the satisfaction of doing my duty. i think its my dharma being a well wisher of some one to tell that 'you are running into risk' and its perfectly fine if...

Trust: an Expectation?

Image
there are many questions in my mind right now, for which i wish to have answers. Among all of those the very basic is the clarity between 'trusting a person' and 'expecting something from a person'. i'm completely responsible for all the happenings in my life and i deserve all of them: good or bad. what i am confused right now is believing some one an expectation? is the thought that someone is ethically strong as the way you are is an expectation? i dont really have an answer. my boss was saying y'day ' the whole world is selfish only the scale of selfishness varies from person to person'. had it been sometime earlier i would have differed him but now i'm very much convinced that its true. I feel fortunate that God gives me opportunity to think about these kind of things by giving perfectly suited situations. its completely fine with me. i can manage the joy which comes in the due course and i can bear the pain if at all any. given any situation I a...

we can

of late i'm listening many bad news..rather no good news. all my buddies are struggling to make their way out, indian team lost the world cup opportunity, one of my teacher passing away and adding to that my nemesis insomnia. but still there is always somethin to cheer about. in the past week or so i'm fed up with all sorts of negative news and i wished some one would kick me out of this awkward phase. i could nevr imagine my frens in the present state. i understand they have become the target of criticism. though time and again they answered the critics in their own way still they couldnt escape from it. in this due course i was seeking somethin to motivate. i'm expecting somethin to happen to boost myself. it once again the indian scientists who gave me the way to get things done. and the simple message they gave is to work with determination and will. people frowned their brows after the debacle in last july. they answered in their own way through Agni-III. with a range...

Vandemataram!!!

Image
History has a place in its annals for many great people who influenced the masses around them. but its rare to find that one word motivated millions of people. It is the same word which created panic in the majestic empire of "the sun never set". It is the same word which provoked the sleeping patriotic zeal in the Indian SubContinent. Being an Indian I feel proude to yell "vandematarm" as a bow to my motherland, as a pledge to contribute towards my nation. the sacred ode manifested the elegance of Bankin Chandra Chatterjee in bringing the fire from deeper layers of human hearts. Because of this reason the word has become a synonym of Indian National movement. But unfortunate thing is that the present day politicians are resisting its patronization for the sake of vote bank politics. Much has happenend in the country because of the vote bank politics and this is one awkward face of it. the sole target of Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav is to potray hiself as the saviour and ...

where r we goin???

i had a fren named Amritesh who is an active member of Bharath Uday Mission kanpur chapter. though i'm not a member of that chapter i 've the habit of discussing about our nation's future prospects with him. last night our discussion turned on to a concept called "nation's development through self development of individual" i strongly believe that this is the only way to develop our nation. people like motilal nehru, Hegdevar envisioned this long ago but the concept failed to reach the masses of the nation. In the present day i found only Vijay kumar sir of VIMP(my institute) is carrying the flag of self development. two incidents in the recent past provoked me to believe in this philosophy. they are: Infamous Rakhi Sawant Case: in this case rakhi sawant publicly admitted that she has kissed mika on his cheek and has no problem if he replied similarly. she attended the party with no cover on her back and a shot instead of trouser.(i feel ashamed to describe ...

you complain because roses have thorns but you can rejoice saying thorns have roses says a charecter in a comic strip. thats wat i mean to say yeah, optimism.. this is one thing which we require the most to survive in this world. all our deeds are based on the only assumption arising from a concept called optimism. if you google the world "optimism" you will end up in getting 3 crores of results in .21seconds. this number explains you the value world is offering to this word. five years back from now one of my fren gave me quote " meeting and parting is the way of life, parting and meeting is the hope of life" all the so coined winners of life had it in tons and all the mediocres lack in their thinking. now the question is wat is this so called optimism? its not a complex concept like the blackhole theory or stock market analysis. its jus feeling good about yourself, your family, your frens and the society which you live. dont think that your fren dont help you when...

pillars of my life

As another year passed I felt that this is the time to re-investigate the factors of my growth and so I am publishing this as a "namaskaram" to all of them. I hail from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. I completed my engineering in KSRM college of Engg, Kadapa. Regarding my habits I do meditate dialy and like to listen melodious songs. Now-a-days I am listening songs from Linkin Park and other Rocks as my close friend is a diehard fan of Rock. My favourite sites are eenadu.net, ndtv.com, wikipedia.org. Right from my childhood I motivated myself by observing the exceptional skills of people surrounding me. On 7/5/2K3 I joined a gifted institute called VijayKumar Institute of MegaMemory and Personality development(VIMP) in Kadapa. I always consider that as the turning point of my life. After joining the institute I found what I am capable of and started moving in that direction. I am always thankful to Mr G.J.Raju who is one of my role models for his priceless advice. There are some...

my almamater

These words of mine are neither from joy nor from ecstasy but from bitter agony which I experienced after getting cognizance about the present situation of the IPE dept in KSRMCE. Its very unfortunate to hear about the termination of the branch in the next couple of years. It is this branch which created many titans who are pioneering in academic as well as industrial arena. Few epitomes of excellence like are Sheshank(IBM), Pramod(HAL), Ashok(Zuari), Harish(Karvy) etc are only a few to quote. It is by virtue of this branch March 15th of every year is turning in to red letter day in the annals of the college. In fact the best gate rank ever is from IPE itself (Sheshank AIR 10). Even in gate-2005 the students of the department made merry. It is this branch which experienced the managing expertise of legendary C.S.Rao. With my experience of four years in the college I coin IPE, ME, CE as the best departments of the college. I feel that the IPE dept had surpassed the latter in some aspect...

Happy New Year

As humans we cross many years of time in our life. But only some remain wonderful for ourselves. We coin them by terms like 'best', 'great' etc. The aspect that should be remembered is 'what made that year great?' By and large humans derive happiness when their expectations are reached. In order to reach the expectations we need to change ourselves according to the situation. Manuvering the situations is the graetest skill one has to practice. 'Change gives growth' so lets welcome this new year with a hope of growth. Its the 'belief to achieve' with which humans are battling in this world of unending dangers. Let us hope that this new year will bring all the success to us and we have a great time. HAPPY NEW YEAR
