Bihar Bleeding..

Jai Guru Deva, I am writing this content with angst and helplessness. Bihar which was once portrayed as the "Mighty Anga" is today bleeding with very unfortunate communal riots. The land of Chanakya and Buddha is going through a horrid time for the last couple of weeks. Again, the reason for this communal riots are very trivial. I read from The Hindu that a mob of muslims attacked a hotel when the hotel owner refused to provide non-veg food. Another incident happened when one group mis behaved with women of other group. I think only in India that these kind of stray incidents are given communal color leading to riots. This reminds me the bloody riots of Bhagalpur way back in 1989. I think it  is worth to recall the story of Bhagalpur. Bhagalpur is a small town in Bihar which was famous for  hand made clothes, akin to lucknow. The business was owned by Hindus mostly marwadis while the work force is predominantly Muslims. On an unfortunate day a girl from a marwadi family wa...

Hindu Corruption Vs Muslim Corruption!!!

Image
Well! Well! Well! Baba Ramdev's property will now go through the scanner.. within a week's gap the red carpet welcome from the government translated into IT raids and ED scannings.. thats India for you!! Few hours are good enough to change friends to foes and vice versa!!  Now coming to the present situation, a lot is being said and discussed about Ramdev's identity as a yoga guru, his 200 odd companies, 1100 cr trust and the scottish island.. but none of these fails to explain why he cant fight against corruption?? on sunday night I watched a discussion hosted by Burkha Dutt and one of the gentlmen took a serious objection about the people in Ramlila grounds shouting slogans "Vandemataram" and "Bharathmata ki jai" (I forgot the name of the person).. But he conviniently ignored the fact that no section of Indian Penal Code prevents its citizens from shouting "Vandemataram".. in fact it is the battle cry of Indian Freedom Struggle.. For suppos...

Mandir,Masjid aur Natak!!

Again the ghost of Babri Masjid/Ram Janmabhbhumi has come alive with the Allahabad HC due to deliver the verdict next week.. week before the verdict, the court asked the relevant parties to settle the issue with consensus.. Before worrying about the request of the court lets go back to basics and make an effort to understand this problem..Let me jot down the arguments of two parties in this regard: Hindu View: Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya and there was a temple on his name. This temple has been raised to dust by Babar and a mosque was built in that place. That Mosque was "inadvertently"demolished in 1992 and now we need to rebuild the temple. Muslim View: The Masjid present there was destroyed by Hindu groups and we need to rebuild it.  A small stat, this karma bhumi is rather the only country in this planet where there are more prayer halls than the number of schools and hospitals. Firstly I must confess that both the parties have a right to cry foul because their r...

Modernism at its best!!!

Image
WHERE ARE WE GOING?  YES, I'M ASKING THIS, "WHERE ARE WE GOING?" I'm writing this with immense pain from the deep layers of my heart and with the helplessness of a orphan...Before concluding that i'm mad or insane just see the pic..  From the so called "civilized societies", we learnt to celebrate mothers day, fathers day, valentines day etc etc. there is nothing called husbands day or wifes day because in that societies no affection exists between husband-wife and that relation is meant only for fun. That fun is nothing but two bags of shit and bones rubbing each other with the expectation that they will attain "enjoyment" after sometime.. My doubt is why should someone be loved only one day of an year? why not through out? However, We never learn from them activities like "Students Against Drunken Driving", dignity of labour etc.. but we are damn good at these so called "Traits of Modernism" And then, one bastard makes n...

Spirituality

Image
Off late I am listening a lot related to spirituality. Like spiritual gurus, spiritual healing etc etc. But I am just wondering what does people mean by spirituality at a community level. I heard many people saying we connect to God through our guru or we realised God through Guruji. Some how I am apprenhensive of "feeling God" by paying some money. Having said that I mean no insult or disrespect to any of the Gurus or Mullas or Fathers. I am only saying that how different is it from other forms of business? but then why are the Gurus exempted from govt taxes? no one knows! not even God. Thats why I always say religion is the biggest business in this country. There is a period of boom and recession for s/w but there is no recession for spiritual business. I am no atheist and believes in God as any one else. Being an orthodox hindu (thats what people call me) I have no hesitation in saying that no way in the literature you find "feeling God " for some money. People s...

Article and my response

last Friday, there was an article in The Hindu where Mr. Hasan Suroor explained how muslims in India are being ill treated and how that is turning 'moderate muslims' into 'orthodox muslims'. he took example of Shabana Azmi and her statements about the Babri Masjid issue. I am placing the article here . After reading the article, I mailed my response to The Hindu and they published a part of it. you can find it here . I am glad that atleast one news paper in India has the courage to present two sides of an aspect. As a matter fact, I wrote about the very topic some time back, I guess after the Delhi blasts last year. Below is my actual response to the article: Dear Sir, Below is my response to the article by Hasan Suroor on 8th May, 2009 in your esteemed news paper. I request you to publish in the letters to editor column. It is true that the Babri Masjid incident is certainly a black mark in the history of secular India. But taking it as a reason to become hardlined...

are we going to middle ages???

Middle ages, a time of human history where conflicts, wars, big or small spread all across the globe. there are many reasons for this wars, some are fight against external forces, some are fight within the people of same group, some for power and some for money. but one particular wars which overshadowed remaining is the "Holy Crusades" or "Jihad", whatever you name it!! there are very few moments in my life when I felt ashamed of being a human, and one such moment is when I came to know about crusades. people of two religions killed each other like wild animals and the worst part is that the heads of the two religions endorsed them saying that they will reach "Zenith" if they do so!! now again after some centuries, we are standing at a similar juncture but this time in a different part of the world. I went through the report prepared by the time magazine about the making of "Mumbai 26/11". In that report the authors mentioned that whoever traine...

How Long should this go?

Image
Find the Odd man out of the following? 1.Haridwar 2. Kanpur 3.Agra 4. Benaras Many people know the answer of the above question. Lets go to another question: Find the Odd man out of the following? 1. Mumbai 2. Hyderabad 3. Ahmadabad 4. Delhi I'm sure its quite difficult to answer this question, because there is no odd man in this! all four places have everything in common. May it be being Indian cities, or having huge population, or having centers of development off late or places filled with people who lost their loved ones by the massacre done by some beasts on the name of the religion. This is the plight of my nation! People go on bombing as if they are very much used to it. The so called policy makers condemn the acts, the opposition claims its the fault of the govt., govt. says its all because of 'Gujarath' (i dont know how poor Gujarathis can be made responsible for this!) Yet another blast, yet another condemn from the people, yet another eventful day for the media, ...

9/11 and after!!

Image
'9/11' '9/11' A term which has shown the world a new level of suffering, A day which left the whole world with a feeling of insecurity, An accomplished mission which defeated the humanity! Its not the first time that humanity is defeated by a group of people or by s section. If people think that 9/11 is the result of some incidents happened in the past few decades they r seriously mistaken. Human beings tend to conveniently forget the root cause of the whole problem. And the real thing which is behind it is a ghastly episode in the history of human being. it is called the CRUSADES. It was a bloody era of human history. If at all I felt let down by reading some thing in the human history it is this. the first crusade started in 1095 A.D. and the maverick attitude of the two religions continued for another 350+ years!!! A war longing for 350 years!! yes it was. These wars left the a gap between the two religions which is yet to get bridged. Whatever ill feelings develope...

Religion...

this is again something which i want to write for a long long time. now i'm very much emotionally charged up with all possible set backs and i could see myself in a place where i'm left with nothing to lose. well, let me not become too personal and write start about religion. there is a great word in Sanskrit called "Dharma" which mentions the duties a person has to perform in his life time. English language do not have an equivalent for that and it was replaced by "RELIGION". so the misconceptions started right from the outset. Religion mean a way or a set of rules which people has to follow for the peaceful functioning of the society. Why is this needed? cant we live without it? yes! you can live without it, but if you are to be called a human you need some rules to monitor yourself and thats what exactly religion is!! A couple of days some one on the net was making an appeal that human being has to come beyond religions claiming that religions are the cau...

Indian Muslims or Indians or Muslims???

this is something which i was thinking to blog for a long long time. At the end of this update ppl might resort to report abuse my blog. i dont mind it as long as i stand for what i believe through my heart and soul. A couple of days back Shabana Azmi remarked that she could not buy a house in Mumbai for the reason that she is a muslim. Similarly Mohd.Azharudin claimed that he is facing the match fixing offense for the reason that he is a minority. These are a couple of statements which are showing the moral bankruptcy among the people. Did Azharuddin forgot that he is a muslim when he is made the captain of Indian cricket team? Is Shabana Azmi under any spell when she is awarded the best actress award many times? why didnt she cry foul at that time saying its because of her religion. Show me one country in the planet where the so called minorities are giving the same value and treatment we are giving them. people might point out the issues like Babri Masjid and 2002 Gujarat riots but ...
